This has been the fifth time.
We are currently reviewing the way forward and what would be the best way to revive the blog. Will keep you updated.

I reckon you guys should consider hosting with a hosting company outside South Africa and instead of using a .com extension use something like .us - that way your hosting company has to warn you first before they can shut anything down.

This guy is probably locked up in his granny’s basement somewhere, where he is plugged in to a whole network of computers and other techno gadgets.
ReplyDeleteI can follow his every move, because I’m connected to his facebook page. I don’t know how that happened, but it happened several months ago when someone probably suggested his page to me. One tends to click the “accept” button sometimes before thinking twice. I often do this as the option is always open to block the user later, or to resign as member of the page.
Whatever the case, I have not been paying much attention to him, and have only recently discovered that the chap has one hell-of-a inferiority complex! He is forever looking for attention, and that is the last thing I want to give him.
With this latest incident on SAS, I think the chap noticed that the visitor-stats were high. He thus saw it as an opportunity to boost his own stats. He seems to be quite a fundi on YouTube and social networking sites, and utilises these platforms to the max. He would thus have attacked the SAS blog, whether SAS threatened him, or not - It was just a matter of time! He obviously followed through on his threats to close down the blog, simply to prove to his mates (and himself) that he can!
I suggest that SAS get up and running asap, using blogger if necessary. It will only take a week or two to get the visitor-stats back to where they were. I’ll do my part with the marketing. I’m sure Annie Kalahari will do the same…

It seems that the person that caused SAS to die is the one now blaming rendier. I have been a member of SAS since the beginning but it was due to your attacks and threats that he got it right to shut us down. Why couldn't you just leave it? Why did you have to act bigger than the blog? Man I love SAS but really. You let us down on this one. The obsessive posting of blogs of Rendier also didn't help. I hate that cunt but why give him so much attention, who is to say he wont ask his kaffer lovers to ban the next one and the next one?

ReplyDeleteI think everyone might be getting ahead of themselves. A blog cannot be shut down because of comments threatening people. At least not in the short-term. If that were the case, you could simply troll a blog you dislike making threatening comments as you go. A blog has to be taken down for a range of things. Simply a couple of threats should not lead to yanking a blog without calling the bloggers to order so that they can first try and sort the issue out.

They see dead kaffers on our blog and assume we hate them for no reason, they assume we are doing it for no reason. I think the best way forward is to calm down with the pictures and the words that can get us into trouble. I hate seeing us grow and then lose everything, and then start over again.
Fuck Rendier forget about the doos, let's focus on the bigger picture, the one we started this blog for. We also don't want him to find us again cause you know he will pull the same stunt. ReplyDeleteI'm sure a bunch of people were involved in this, and that they inquired from Wordpress exactly how to close the site (perhaps working with sympathetic people there). This is why the trolling was so violent - they knew it would all be taken down.
It seems to have been a mixture of trolling and baiting. Reindeer certainly had a clear "aha - thank you, now I have what I was looking for" moment.
Perhaps there was something to the Spartan method of listening to soothing music and getting rid of any anger before going into battle.
Sad that it's gone and the mods have to go through so much effort, but it might be for the best in the long run.

ReplyDeleteNo, it wasn't, stop lying --- if you bothered to follow the entire exchange, Rendier initially said he wanted to get SAS shut down because of the negative comments calling Mandela a 'terrorist' etc., claiming that it was 'hate speech' and that it was going to 'cause Uhuru' and that 'hate speech' should be censored. Rendier said he wanted the site shut down BEFORE any of the threats.
Basically Rendier is acting like a child who went to 'tell on SAS' to the 'principal' because SAS did something that Rendier has been brainwashed by the 'teacher' to believe is 'naughty', 'hate speech'. This is Rendier: "Waaah, teacher, SAS is doing hate speech against Mandela and blacks, please stop it".

So I wrote to Wordpress asking why the blog was suspended and requested ,in order to ensure freedom of speech, could the blog be reinstated.
I received the following reply:

So I think from that it is obvious why it was suspended.
Personally I do not think the behaviour the night before, reflects what we are trying to achieve. And as soon as any one individual becomes bigger than the blog or one issue causes so much rage, that we cannot control our reactions - then its time to take a step back and reasses.
I only started blogging on the site recently, because I was looking for a platform to highlight the injustice and horror of what has become of my country. I was looking for like-minded individuals that were sick of just talking and wanted to unite and do something.
And I have written about HATE before in a previous article and I will continue to speak out against those who hate simply because hate is all they have to offer the debate.
The anger towards a certain muscle mary was justified, but if we are truly bigger than small minded liberals, then we need to prove it in our actions and behaviour.
It is clear from the vast majority of posts on SAS, that SAS bloggers could take on any journalist in SA, because the wit and intelligence on display is deadly on its own.
How that wit could open up eyes, make us laugh and excite the sensors - how that wit could take on liberal media and WIN! And how that wit HAS done just that!
There is therefore no need for hate. Personally I would like to see SAS move onto its own website with better community and article forwarding options. I am even willing to fund it – but either way they can keep trying, but they cannot silence the truth!

I remember that video and it was not aimed at SAS, it was aimed at people who threatened ANYONE on their death bed. Not just the old kaffer.

Several days later, but BEFORE anyone at SAS had threatened him, he posted a second video, this time specifically trying to get SAS shut down.

In light of that exhibitionism which will eventually draw fame or infamy,Wordpress could have removed some posts (about three) - it wasn't necessary to destroy (steal) the creativity of an entire community on the basis of that. There was humour, poetry, academia, resources and so much that is gone.
Despite the heated ending, the 99% of the content they happily tolerated for quite long served a group of people. So they are in effect inciting against a "group of people". Yeah we might not agree on everything - but enough to make a vibrant online community.
Maybe it's not popular speech at the moment, but one day it will be the self-evident truth!

As a moderate I believe SAS has a place and a right to be heard and read...If only to see what the "other" side has to say...Having said that, I often find the articles humerous, bold and fresh, like a slap in the face...Not to put too fine a point on it, sometimes I find myself laughing and having to grudgingly agree in some respects...Certainly, whites in SA have an automatic communal recognition of their shared plight, a kind of Jungian sub-consiousness and empathy for each other...I might add that I too have dropped the K word under certain stressful conditions! Andrea's link posted above is great. While I have heard of Rudolf the rednosed rendier, it was a long time back when he was picking fights with khayav and never bothered to pay attention to either of them again. I think we should forget them and just move on. They'll never silence us.
But I must say, we should not let ourselves be baited. Keep a cool head. Friedrich made an excellent point above about listening to calming music before going into battle. I said it before, we need to guard our mouths and remain calm and collected, specifically for this reason.
I wasn't around to see everything that went down, and Andrea's post helped a lot in that regard. I was incredibly disappointed when I wanted to take a quick look the other morning and realised that SAS disappeared. That's when I figured to come here.

Euphemisms are no different from political correctness. In fact I wouldn't even object to more of it, including those videos of blacks burning others alive. I once saw a video of a necklacing on South Africa-P.I.G. and it made me sick to my stomach what barbarity they are capable of. I will never watch that video again and it haunts me to this very day. But it's reality. It's the truth. And while I want the victims of such crimes to be respected, I think it's absolutely essential that the true nature of the matter comes to light.
In fact, I would even put something in my will to provide that if they should slaughter me, impale me on a broomstick, or slit me open and hang me upside down the way they have done to other white people in SA, I would want the photos spread all over the internet on every site and every forum imaginable, not to mention sent to the UN, media and foreign embassies everywhere. I agree, Adriana’s list might not be perfect. It is far too conservative. The death count is much higher if you start examining these deaths in proper detail. Personally I calculated the death toll of white famers since 1994 to be more in the region of 12,000.
